There's always a spectacle somewhere in Bangkok, and wherever there's anything interesting there's a traffic jam.
This seemed to be where the largest crowd of onlookers were. The Ananda Samakhom Throne Room was behind me as I took this photo. The large photos of the royal family are an almost permanent fixture of the road junction.
